Victor Kuleshov is the founder and continues as the Managing Director of OKM Publishers. "If we can help to make this music available and as generally popular as it deserves to be, then I think I will have done a good service for the heritage that I have been so fortunate as to receive." Victor Kuleshov was born in Leningrad, as his home was then called, on a Sunday afternoon of the early autumn. He started to take violin lessons and playing ice-hockey at the age of six. In his late teens, he made his choice for the violin, and, in 1979, graduated from the Music College of the Leningrad Conservatory. His tutor and advisor was the noted Professor Anatoly Reznikovsky. In 1989 Victor completed his advanced studies at the Conservatory under Professor Michael Beliakov. From 1988 he started touring as part of a duet with Alexander Berlin on viola. In 1990 Victor was chosen as Concertmaster of the State Symphony Orchestra of Saint Petersburg, a position he held for five years. In 1995 Victor created a string trio that he named "The Modern Trio", after a classical music radio station with which he helped to organize. In 2000 Victor was again the organizer and leader, re-founding the Chamber Music Society of Saint Petersburg, an institution that was originally formed in 1872 by E. Albrecht, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, L. Auer and M. Beliaev. As a virtuoso violinist, Victor Kuleshov has toured extensively in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Germany, Finland and France. He also performs often for the appreciative audiences of Saint Petersburg, where so many of his projects have served to give new life to the city's musical culture. His usual repertoire includes both the core of the classical canon and a leavening of modern works : Brahms, Mozart, Tartini, Beethoven, Shubert, Schumann, Paganini, Tchaikovsky, de Sarasate, Shostakovich, Hindemith, Stockhausen and Schnittke.
